The Anxiety and Panic Treatment Center offers individual therapy, group therapy and weekend intensive programs for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder/Agoraphobia, Social Anxiety, specific Phobias (such as Aviophobia - fear of flying) and almost any other form of anxiety disorder. Individual therapy is usually offered Monday to Friday between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, groups are usually offered between 5:00 and 7:00 PM Monday to Thursday and the weekend intensive programs are offered all day Saturday and Sunday on two consecutive weekends and are scheduled on an as needed basis. Groups usually have between 5 to 9 clients and the weekend intensive programs are limited to a maximum of 5 clients. Before starting any of the groups or intensive programs an intake evaluation is required.
The weekend intensive programs are only offered for OCD, Panic Disorder/Agoraphobia and Social Anxiety. These weekend intensive programs are offered on an as needed basis and are limited to a maximum of five people. Sessions are offered 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Saturday and Sunday (with a one hour break for lunch from noon to 1:00 PM) on two consecutive weekends. Individual and group therapy are provided and attendance at both weekend sessions is required. Since the program requires clients to be available for two consecutive weekends, out of town clients will need to find accommodations in the Portland area and we will be happy to assist with that process. The same basic treatment programs that we use for our weekly therapy groups are used for the week intensives, but just in a more condensed form. All of our programs are firmly grounded in evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and focus heavily upon exposure therapy. The weekend intensive’s are designed for people who are unable to meet Monday through Friday because of other commitments such as work, people who are eager to make rapid advances in treating their anxiety disorder or for people who live outside the Portland metropolitan area and cannot find a provider locally to meet their needs.
