Individual Therapy Group Therapy Family Therapy Intensive Treatment Programs Home Visits Out of Office Sessions
Our approach is very much Cognitive Behavioral and is based upon what the data tell us is most effective for each disorder. Clients are expected to attend all sessions to which they commit and can expect to work hard during the weeks they attend our groups. Exposure is a big part of out treatment approach.

This is a sixteen week program, meeting weekly (except holidays), for clients with panic, agoraphobia and some other phobias. We address panic and phobic fears and avoidances, both cognitively and behaviorally, as well as relapse prevention. Clients learn to understand where such fears tend to originate from, what maintains and reinforces them, and how to overcome their fears. While everyone's rate of progress varies, we strongly encourage clients to aspire for recovery.
The introductory segment, Phase 1, is 4 weeks long with access any week. The more intensive part of the program, Phase 2, is 12 weeks long and consists of three 4 week Modules and can be started in the beginning of any one Module. For those wanting to work more, repeat of any Module of Phase 2 is possible.
Once you have completed Phase 1 you may start the rest of the program with any of the next three modules Cost for the program is $75 per session for Phase 1 and $85 form each session in Phase 2. We ask that you pay for each module in advance.

Panic/Agoraphobia Intensive Treatment Program
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Intensive Treatment Program
Saturday and Sunday 9:00am-4:30pm on two consecutive weekends
Led by Robert W. McLellarn, Ph.D.
Elke Zuercher-White, Ph.D., ABPP
These intensive programs, meeting four days on weekends -24 hours in total- are designed for clients needing a more intensively focused treatment approach than would be provided with more typical weekly sessions. It is also ideal for those who live too far to commute to our clinic every week.
The treatment follows certain protocols and is also individually tailored to take into account each client's unique fears. Each of these condensed programs follows the same treatment protocol as our groups do, but the treatment is condensed into four days. During the latter phase of the program, we make a careful follow-up plan for how to maintain gains and continue working toward recovery. Booster sessions can be set up as needed or follow-up care is coordinated with the client's therapist if he or she has one. Aftercare is thus a vital part of the planning.
The programs meet each day from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm with a lunch break from 12 to 1:00 PM. We anticipate offering both of these programs several times throughout the year based upon client demand. We are also able to present either of these programs outside of the Portland area if enough people sign up.
